Description

This course aims to provide key knowledge regarding issues related to "safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people". This includes understanding key safeguarding definitions, recognising types of child abuse and knowing how to deal with suspected/reported cases of abuse in an appropriate fashion. The course also addresses professional responsibilities towards children; knowing how to react and prevent child abuse; handle information about a child and their guardian. It covers Female Genital Mutilation and radicalisation. The aim of the course is to make Health and Social Care workers aware of their role in Safeguarding Children and Young Adults.
