Course overview
This course provides learners with essential training in safeguarding vulnerable adults. Health and social care professionals will be able to recognise, respond to and know how to report concerns of abuse or neglect as per UK legislative requirements. It covers key frameworks including the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), VARMM, Scottish Adult Support and Protection legislation, as well as whistleblowing procedures. Learners will understand their legal and professional responsibilities in protecting vulnerable adults and be able to support safe, effective care.
